CUET Students Success in 'ECORUN Bangladesh 2013'

A team of Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) placed 2nd Position in an exhibition and design contest of fuel efficient vehicles styled 'ECORUN Bangladesh 2013'. The name of the team is "Prototype", which is a team of the students of Mechanical Engineering Department of the university. Moreover, another team of the same department, "X-R" got 3rd position in Wagon 3-Wheeler category. The contest held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka on March 15, 2013. Commerce Minister Engr. Ghulam Muhammed Quader, Education Secretary Dr. Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Chief Representative of JICA Dr. Takao Toda were present on the occasion. A total of 15 vehicles - 5 in 4-wheeler category and 10 in 3-wheeler category, from 6 institutions took part in ECORUN Bangladesh - 2013. Thirteen teams from five universities - Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET), Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) participated in the event. Two teams from Barisal Technical School and College (RISE) also took part in the event as guest participants. Using fuel more efficiency in vehicles can ensure less use of fuel leading to reduction of vehicular pollution. This is one of the most effective options for reduction of pollution, until feasible alternative technologies can take over. Engraving this principle in young minds may save our planet one day 'ECORUN Bangladesh 2013' is a concept of a fuel efficient vehicle design contest and exhibition at the national level of Bangladesh.
